A great way to socialize remotely with your friends and family is to video chat with them. There are many free resources for remote work meetings or just virtual happy hours.

If you have gmail it, click the link and it will open your hangouts where you can start a video call with your contacts

Free conference calls. Skype requires payment for different types of calls though. Computer to computer calls don’t cost anything though

If you have WhatsApp on your phone, you can start a group call from your phone.
